Nairobi to New York

Eight hours…that’s how long it took combing through aisle upon aisle, scrolling through online store after online store, trying my utmost best to find afro-chic accessories for my corporate outfits.

This was virtually impossible. Afro-chic in the concrete jungle…tough. So I brought my adornments- yes, the ones I’d left in the motherland….and then began the stoppings; no better way to call them other than the stopping…after every other block: who are you wearing…how can I find it…where can I find it…I disappointed so many….so many who thought I could point them places…My queens, I don’t need to disappoint you anymore…I brought you the chicness of your heritage. The indulgence of the motherland. You’re Welcome! A

Ayebo, daughter of Oparo, son of Engulu-the Chief of the Iteso.
